Performance Tip

Sure, your HMI is probably OK to look at. But has it been set up to help your efficiency? Following these 5 steps in setting up your HMI has been estimated to raise productivity anywhere from 5% to 12%.

Robotics

From changes in tax incentives to advances in automation that allow for combining robot operation and sequence programming from within the PLC, 2018 saw many changes affecting industry adoption of robotics. Read here about some of the latest factors that you need to be aware of when examining your own business case.

Automation

Learn how one of the world’s largest breweries managed 40 percent growth in three years by automating and standardizing its processes, from recipe management to path management for incoming raw materials to beer production and packaging processes. The systems approach and technologies used to support this extreme flexibility provide lessons learned for all factory operations.

Digitalization

In this video, watch the amazing process of moving from sketch to virtual reality to full-scale 3-D metal printed automobile.

Video Spotlight

Watch how an easily integrated approach to motion is helping machine builders deliver machines that are faster, more automated and more flexible — while meeting specific customer requirements and keeping design costs in check.

Products

High-level language programs communicate with the PLC via defined interfaces on the newly released multifunctional platform CPU 1518(F)-4 PN/DP MFP. Besides standard STEP 7 blocks used within SIMATIC, the CPU 1518-4 PN/DP MFP can also execute functions (blocks) and applications programmed in the C or C++ commonly used by PC applications. This includes model-based and database applications.

SIMATIC HMI Comfort Panels from 15 to 22 inches have been redesigned to ensure that spare parts will be available over the long term. These advances have been made without altering functionality or pricing.

The latest update of SIMATIC WinCC/PerformanceMonitor brings significant improvements at no cost to users. It adds support for Microsoft Windows Server 2016, SIMATIC Process Historian 2014 SP2 Update 3, and SIMATIC Information Server 2014 SP2 Update 3.
