EDITOR'S NOTE |
The Search for Practical Answers to Everyday Challenges |
In my 30+ years of covering all range of technologies for trade publications, I've seen how much we—journalists and readers alike—are attracted by the new and shiny. We love to see the latest technologies and learn about the cool bells and whistles that are coming around the bend. But when it comes to helping you do your jobs better on a daily basis, very often you need more practical answers. That’s why, with ProFood World’s February cover story, we really wanted to get into the kinds of small, decidedly unsexy automation projects that can help you improve throughput, reliability, repeatability—all while relieving labor pressures. The issue also includes some great examples of useful technologies in action, including cleaning and sanitation, metal detection, and enterprise resource planning, not to mention a special Innovations Report from PACK EXPO Las Vegas. |
